Opportunity to Recycle

Oregon law requires landlords of five or more dwellings to provide their tenants the opportunity to recycle

(ORS 90.318).

As part of the complete package of services offered by certified haulers, property landlords and managers can receive all the materials necessary to fulfill this requirement free of charge!

Landlords are Responsible for:

• Distributing Our Apartment Recycling newsletter at least once per year to all existing tenants and providing it to new incoming tenants.
• Posting “how to” posters at recycling container sites.
• Keeping recycling containers free of contamination.
• Monitoring recycling areas: removing contamination and notifying tenants of proper preparation.
